This is about to become a travel blog for probably the next year or so. The first part of this journey is through old territory — by boat through British Columbia’s Gulf Islands and Southern Vancouver Island — a relaxed way to begin an extended adventure. We spent a number of days, this time, at tiny Russell Island, at the mouth of Saltspring’s Fulford Harbour. Once a homestead, the entire island is now a marine park. The 1905 vintage house still stands, as do the orchards. That part is behind us now and we’re holed up waiting for weather in Comox, further north on Vancouver Island, the first time tied to a dock in over a month.
